Percentages: Fractions to Percentages

Each problem in these worksheets requires the student to convert a fraction to percent, including improper fractions and percentages greater than 100%

Fraction to Percent

Any fraction, even a mixed fraction, can be converted to a percentage. For simple fractions with denominators that are easily multiplied to reach 100, the process of finding an equivalent fraction is an easy path to converting a fraction to percentage. Less obvious divisors may require fall back to dividing the numerator by the denominator to get a decimal result, and shifting the decimal place to get the corresponding percentage. These worksheets exercise both the equivalent fraction and the division approach, and the answer keys show both. This reinforces the similarities between the approaches and hopefully further solidies the concept of percentages as fractions in the student's mind.
